What To Expect Snorkeling in Key Largo

Explore world-famous sites like the Christ of the Abyss and the beautiful coral reefs in the protected waters of John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and the Florida Keys National Marina Sanctuary.

The coral reefs begin about 3 miles offshore and are accessible via boat tours 365 days per year. Snorkeling Tours run daily and generally consist of 30-40 minute boat ride each way and 2 hours of snorkeling.

Snorkeling tours take place in the open ocean at least 3 miles offshore. There is always a possibility of unexpected current, waves, or nuisance marine life. Visibility changes throughout the day and is not reliably predictable. Wind forecast is impacts snorkeling, rain/storms generally are not a factor.

Swimming is Required

Everyone that gets off the boat must know how to swim. No Exceptions

Seasickness Possibility

All snorkeling tours are at least 3 miles offshore. Anyone prone to seasickness or those unsure should take anti-seasickness medicine.
