Requirements & prerequisites
Minimum age 10 years old
Under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at the pool and on the boat.
Complete a diver medical questionnaire
All Open Water Scuba Certification participants must complete a diver medical questionnaire. Some medical histories may require physician approval before participating in the pool training and ocean dives. Please review this medical questionnaire before making your purchase. No refunds for a failed medical questionnaire.
Basic swimming is required
Basic swimming is a requirement for all divers. No refunds for a failed swim assessment.
Curriculum
Start at home with E-Learning
Your training will begin at home with the academic E-learning. E-Learning is an efficient way to start your journey into scuba diving at your own pace. Upon completion of the E-Learning you will be ready to begin your PADI Open Water Diver Training with your Private Instructor.
Time commitment: The PADI E-Learning will take approximately 4–8 hours. If you have any questions call us, email us, text us, or start a web chat. We are here to help 7 days per week until 11pm EST.
Schedule
Day 1
7:30 AM check-inPool training, then 2 afternoon reef dives
Morning
- Check-in 7:30 AM — complete waivers, get fitted for gear
- Meet your instructor, knowledge review
- Pool training 8:00 AM until 11 AM
- 1 hour lunch break
Afternoon
- Afternoon dive trip check-in 12:15 PM
- 1 PM departure — 2 reef dives
- Back to the dock at 5:00 PM
Day 2
8:00 AM check-inSame schedule as Day 1, then certification
Morning
- Check-in 8:00 AM
- Pool training 8:30 AM
- Lunch break 11 AM
Afternoon
- 1 PM departure — 2 reef dives
- Back to the dock at 5:00 PM
